Anaheim, Orange County
Disneyland opened in Anaheim on July 17, 1955, on land that had been orange groves. It was the first theme park Walt Disney built and the only one he saw completed. A second park, Disney California Adventure, joined it in 2001, and the two now face each other across a shared plaza.
